We’re so excited to finally usher in the fall season. Cooler weather, warm cider, candied apples, pumpkin patches (and lattes!), Halloween, hayrides, and campfires – what more could you want? This is an especially thrilling time because of the many festivals happening throughout our great state of Indiana. To properly celebrate all things fall, we want to share with you some of our favorites. Listed are seven fun fall events in Indiana that you simply do not want to miss:
For many children, a pumpkin patch is a magical place where the spirit of fall is truly alive. This year, continue your pumpkin picking tradition by driving your family out to Dull’s Tree Farm. This family-owned farm offers a host of activities for all to enjoy, from an 8-acre corn maze to face painting to pony rides and more. They even have a bed and breakfast on site so that you can get the most out of your visit!

Want to see your favorite character come to life in the form of gourds? Take a trip to Fashion Farm in Ligonier to see magical pumpkin designs of all kinds. Using pumpkins, squash and other gourds, as well as a bit of magic, artists construct famous characters, historical events and well-known stories that will make you smile – and perhaps even shriek! Bring the entire family along for a whimsical day at the Pumpkin Fantasy Land, and enjoy a scrumptious meal in the Fashion Farm Restaurant.

ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo
If you have children who scare easily, the Halloween season can be difficult to navigate. Have no fear, the Indianapolis Zoo is here to offer kids a fun-filled time with “not-so-frightful animals” as well as “pumpkins galore,” and an exciting village to walk through. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their costumes and bring reusable bags to put their candy in from the Trick-or-Treat Trail!

Heartland Apple Festival in Danville
If there’s an annual event that’s been going on for more than 30 years, you know it’s a good one. The 31st annual Heartland Apple Festival is making its return and, by golly, mark it on your calendars now. Fun for the whole family, you can take part in wine tastings, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, mouth-watering food, apple cannons and more! This event is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees each weekend, so make sure to get there early!

Fall Colors Festival in Salem
The fall season encompasses more than Halloween and concocting ways to scare trick-or-treaters. It also happens to be one of the most beautiful times of the year – thanks to the colorful fall foliage. On October 20, visit the McCloud Nature Park in Salem for free and take part in the fun festivities, including archery, hayrides, and pumpkin decorating.

Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie
Looking for something with a little more “boo!” factor? Then you don’t want to miss Fishers’ Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie. This year, Conner Prairie offers a variety of thrilling adventures, including an 11-acre corn maze, a train ride for younger kids, Halloween-themed games, a magic show, story-telling and more!

We’re happy to inform you that the Boo Bash welcomes children of all ages, and there’s even a sensory-friendly hour that you and your family can attend. With more than 50 vendors participating, you’re sure to have an enchanting time.
